Imagine this:
So you're at work, a place where you are allowed to provide for you are your loved ones. You are good at it. Maybe it's scooping ice cream or maybe it's building chairs. But it's plain, and sometimes business doesn't go so well. You've been doing this for years. As you're doing the same routine in a store somewhere, you hear a looming noise. It sounds like a crowd. They're not rioting, just shouting. You could hear that it's a lot of them. In fact, contrary to what you first thought, they sound excited. You don't remember a parade today. It's not a holiday, just a plain old Wednesday. It gets louder and you see the first of this massive crowd of people all cheering and joyful. Meanwhile you have no idea what is going on. By the time the center of the crowd is passing your store, they take up the block side to side. They look like they're speaking to one another, the first half facing backward, the back half facing forward. You let them pass at first, but can't help but go. You lock the door from the outside and run out.
